Birdon is a diversified global group of companies providing whole-of-life solutions to the maritime, military & resource sectors. We have demonstrated experience in ship repair, ship design & building, dredging, maritime disposals and shipping services.
We operate a number of Sydney region vehicle ferries on behalf of Transport for NSW from Sackville, Webbs Creek, Wisemans Ferry, Mortlake and Berowra Waters
This position reports to the Manager, Ferry Operations.

Role & Responsibilities

•  Operating vehicle ferries at one or more of the abovementioned locations
• Assist with the operation of loading and unloading vehicles and passengers via safe traffic management plan
• Always maintain safe operations
• Operational handovers at the start and end of each shift
•  Maintain a level of fitness for duty
• Ensure all mandatory qualifications are kept up to date
• Complete mandatory company and TfNSW reporting as directed
• Routine maintenance of vessels and equipment
• Attend and provide updates at toolbox and operations meetings
• Commitment to focus on customer service, safety & compliance with all Company Policies and Procedures

• Working With Children Check
• National Police check
•  Current Drivers Licence
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Traffic Control Work Training Card
• A State/Territory or AMSA approved recreational boat licence
• AMSA Exemption 21 (Ferry in chains)
• Worksafe NSW approved Firefighting certificate
• Confined Space Certificate
