With continual growth and diversification, we are currently seeking for a Planner/Scheduler to join our team in Bibra Lake. You will be responsible for guiding the engineering team in adhering to defence systems, regulations and specifications, ensuring the creation of a successful end product meet the specifications and standards of our client.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Project scheduling, including earned value management (EVM) and project performance metrics using Primavera P6 
  • Support the planning and management of project resource requirements, allocating human and material resources efficiently to ensure that the project progresses according to the established schedule 
  • Maintaining the Performance Measurement Baseline and adhering to Configuration and Contractual Change Control requirements 
  • Establish and execute effective monitoring, forecasting and reporting processes for the successful delivery of projects 
  • Providing timely and accurate advice and reports to the Program/Project Managers on schedule performance and analysis 
  • Liaising directly with production teams and subcontractors to provide operational schedules and performance reports 
  • Working closely with various teams across the project, such as design/engineering, procurement, and production, to ensure effective communication and coordination 
  • Responsibility for the fortnightly output of formal Earned Value Management reporting and analysis in collaboration with the Birdon Finance team 
  • Ensure that the project adheres to the established timelines and milestones, making adjustments as necessary to accommodate changes or unforeseen circumstances. 
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in methodologies and implementing best practices 
  • Providing support to the maintenance of the Program Risk Register 
  • Support resource profiling and prediction across the business 
  • Supporting bids and proposals when relevant 

Essential: 

  • 5 years Project Scheduling experience in construction, maintenance or equivalent industry. 
  • Bachelor of Engineering or other relevant tertiary qualification desirable
  • Project forecasting and cost estimation (ETC and EAC)
  • Knowledge of EVM and related disciplines to enable cost and schedule variance tracking and reporting of performance indicators 
  • Australian Citizenship, with eligibility to hold an Australian NV1 security clearance
  • Excellent computer literacy skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent Analytical and researching skills
  • Defence experience desirable
