Mechanical Fitter

CIII in Engineering Mechanical Trade

Mechanical Fitters maintain, fit, repair and manufacture metal parts and machinery.

Our Fitters are responsible for the installation and repair of engines and various mechanical systems on boats and dredges including propulsion, hydraulic fuel, bilge and fire systems. They use a variety of hand tools and lathes working from scale drawings.

Boilermaker (Metal Fabrication)

CIII in Engineering Fabrication Trade

Boilermakers mark, cut, bend, shape, weld, drill, assemble and fix metal to produce or repair all types of fabricated metal products.

Our Boilermakers are responsible for the build of new boats and dredge equipment and the carrying out of repairs using aluminium and steel. They use a variety of hand tools and welding methods working from scale drawings.

Electrician

CIII in Electrotechnology Electrician

Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical machines, instruments and equipment.

Our electricians work with 3 Phase, Single Phase and DC electrical systems. This work includes the new installations, repair and maintenance on boats, dredge machinery and land-based equipment.

Shipwright

CIII in Marine Craft Construction

Shipwrights have wide understanding of marine construction using different materials including timber, metal and composite.

Our shipwrights are responsible for the installation of new fitout such as interior fixtures and cabinetry, windows, exterior fixtures to vessels and the repair of older vessels. They use a variety of hand tools and timber cutting machinery, working from scale drawings.

Industrial Painter

CIII in Surface Preparation & Coating Application

Industrial Painters/Blasters play a vital role in the preparation and protection of a variety of surfaces and materials used for construction and manufacturing. By performing tasks such as abrasive blasting and applying a variety of protective coatings, Industrial Painters/Blasters ensure that surfaces and materials are protected against corrosion and deterioration.

Our Painters are responsible for the preparation of interior panels for new boats, or working on exteriors of large dredge equipment. They use a variety of hand tools, blast and spray equipment.
