Birdon is in the process of extending its facility at Port Macquarie with the construction of a new hardstand area.
The hardstand creates an extra work area for vessels and will enhance environmental management on site by further mitigating the risk of sediment run-off into the Hastings River.
Birdon GM Peter Besseling said the extension was further evidence of Birdon’s commitment to working sustainably within the region and a strong pipeline of work.
“Birdon is continuing to upgrade its facilities to improve the conditions for our workforce and to gain further business efficiencies,” he said.
“The new hardstand area will also provide greater flexibility in accessing our dry dock area, helping us to remain competitive with facilities in Sydney, Brisbane and Newcastle.
